Strong Referral Networks 
Mike Gausling and Glen Bressner, Managing Partners, have extremely strong ties across the State of Pennsylvania. Their combined involvement of more than 40 years spans business, community, economic development and philanthropic engagement, in a wide range of roles. As a result of these relationships, the Fund believes that it is uniquely qualified to collaborate with angel investors, commercial banks, local and state economic development agencies, and other venture capitalist investors to identify, advise, and invest in companies in Pennsylvania and surrounding regions that have the greatest opportunities for substantial growth. The Fund believes that these relationships are a valuable asset that will further enhance the potential to generate superior returns. 


 
Angel Investors from Pennsylvania and the surrounding regions are expected to be the primary source of capital for the formation of the Fund. The Fund expects to encourage its local angel investors
to informally assist in the identification of good people with great product opportunities in the region. The Fund expects to maintain an active dialog with its angel investors, and it is expected to provide its angel investors the opportunity to co-invest in certain product opportunities that require more capital than may be available from the Fund itself.  
 
Local and State Economic Development Agencies have historically been a tremendous regional asset for providing a wide range of financial and business support services. The Fund fully expects to collaborate with these organizations to identify companies that may benefit from both the capital and business building experience of the Fund and the agencies. Since we are investing in portfolio companies that we believe have tremendous growth potential, we believe that collaboration with these agencies will result in greater economic development in the region and most importantly, the creation and retention of many jobs in Pennsylvania.  
 
Commercial Banks offer a unique opportunity for the Fund. Too often, entrepreneurs are unable to secure growth capital from commercial banks because the company is too thinly capitalized and/or the company is perceived to lack the management experience to adequately manage the growth of the company. The Fund believes that it is uniquely qualified to provide both the needed equity infusion and management experience to collaborate with commercial banks to fund the growth of many businesses in the region.  
 
Venture Capitalists are believed to be a tremendous source for identifying opportunities and as investment partners. Because of our substantial operating and brand building skills, we will explore the possibilities of co-investing with other venture capitalists when our skill sets and the regional focus of our Fund is considered a valuable contributor to the success of an investment opportunity in Pennsylvania and the surrounding regions. We also believe that there will be opportunities where we incubate great product ideas into commercially viable businesses that are prepared for larger tier venture capital firms.
