Matt Bieber has been with Originate since its official closing in May 2007 and is a Principal with the fund. He plays a role in investment sourcing, selection, due diligence, and execution. He is, also, the initial contact for Business Plan submissions and maintains internal financial reporting.

Prior to joining Originate, Matt was with Bear Stearns in the Financial Analytics and Structured Transactions group (F.A.S.T.).  The group was the highly-rated sales, trading & structuring group for fixed income products; Matt’s role consisted of analysis & pricing of complex derivatives.  Following Bear, Matt spent time as in middle-market investment banking analyst with Fairmount Partners.  Matt also held positions with Barclays Capital in the distressed debt group; Deloitte & Touche as a research analyst based in Czech Republic; and Senator Arlen Specter’s office as a political aide intern.

Matt is an entrepreneur through and through. He founded an online entertainment company focused on massive online role-playing games, which he rolled into IGE.com where he became a premier account vendor for Dark Ages of Camelot, Star Wars Galaxies, Everquest & Ultima Online.  Matt is an active speaker, panelist & judge who has participated in such events as Wharton VCIC, Perfect Ventures Conference, VANJ Elevator Olympics, Fundingpost, NACEA, Open Court, Lehigh Entrepreneur Residency Program, Lehigh University Wall Street day and multiple regional events. Matt is a graduate of Lehigh University with a BS in Business with a Finance major.
